In May 2023 What’s On Dubai named Almaz one of twelve art exhibitions to see in the city that month, in a guide to Dubai’s galleries for May.
What the guide said
It introduced Rima Chahine as a self-taught Lebanese-Canadian artist, and her show as a meeting of Eastern and Western influences on the human condition, in vivid colour and bold brushstrokes. It also touched on the personal story behind the paintings: healing and self-discovery after moving to a new country as a single mother.
Visiting Almaz
The exhibition was at Andakulova Gallery, Damac Park Towers, DIFC, from 5 May 2023. The gallery showcases emerging and established artists and fosters dialogue and cultural exchange in Dubai’s art scene.
Among the paintings visitors saw there were The Aftermath, the largest canvas in the show at 120 × 150 cm, Sun Chasing and Naked, all still in the collection.
